September 2005

15 September, Rotterdam International Open, 1st Round 77 (+5)

Absolutely poured with rain today. A double and a treble bogey early on but hung in there only to bogey the last two holes. Not very happy. Drove the ball terrible and so it was hard to score from the long wet rough. Off to get a bite to eat and dry out. David

16 September, Rotterdam International Open, 2nd Round 69 (-3)
Salvaged my round by being 4 under-par for my last five holes and should hopefully make it on the cut mark for the weekend. Played a bit better today but still not great. Had a lot of straight miss hits. I hit 16 greens today which is great but my first single putt didn't come until the 12th hole. Hung in there and hit some quality shots over the final 5 holes and made the putts for birdie. David

17 September, Rotterdam International Open, 3rd Round 70 (-2)

Played pretty solid today but did not quite finish it off. Made three great birdies with only one dropped shot but still not taking advantage of the par 5's. Weather was a bit better with a few sunny intervals between the showers. Course is very, very wet so not a lot of run on it. Back to level par for the tournament and hopefully I can take it low tomorrow and move further up the leaderboard. David

18 September, Rotterdam International Open, 4th Round 72 (Ev)

Played better today than the score but my loose shots cost me and my first single putt did not come until the 15th hole. Just not making the mid range putts I needed to shoot good numbers. Tee to green is decent but not quite tight enough at the moment. Hopefully will have a good few weeks to finish off season. David

22 September, Kazakhstan Open, 1st Round 70 (-2)
Shot 70, 2 under-par today which was about level for the field. Played OK but again I did not take advantage of the par 5's. Solid round with 3 birdies and only 1 dropped shot. Was about a mm or 2mm from a 50 grand car at the 16th! Could not have been closer with out going in. David

23 September, Kazakhstan Open, 2nd Round 66 (-6)
A good day at the office. Played solid apart from a couple of horrible mid irons on the back nine. Made two eagles at the 10th and 17th and was 5 under for the par 5's. Four back off the lead so things are set up nicely for the weekend. David

24 September, Kazakhstan Open, 3rd Round 72 (Ev)
Tough day. Played pretty well but made an 8 at the 8th and an extremely cold putter were my only problems. The 8 was some horrific luck, the bizarre and a couple of poor shots. Not a disastrous score as two late birdies keep me some what still in it. Nothing a good day tomorrow can't fix. David

25 September, Kazakhstan Open, 4th Round 71 (-1)

A mixed day where I played pretty well but 2 poor tee shots, couple of bad breaks, two 3 putts and made nothing cost me a great day. Made 6 birdies, all within 4 feet, along with 5 bogies. Should finish top 15 so not a bad week. David

29 September, Open de Toulouse, 1st Round 69 (-3)

Hit the ball very poorly but sandwedge play was decent and I putted much better from the important mid range. Think tiredness was a factor in my play today but it was good to finish with two birdies. David

30 September, Open de Toulouse, 2nd Round 68 (-4)

Leading temporarily! Played better today but still not fantastic. Didn't have the best of starts with a double bogey at the second but birdies at 3 of next 4 holes got me back on tract. I missed a lot of good chances in the middle of my round but made four more birdies in a row on the back nine helped my cause. Putted pretty well again also. Pleased with things considering I'm still tired and swing does not feel great. Hope now for a good weekend. David
